Welcome to Kayra Cabs. By booking a self-drive car rental with us, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before confirming your booking.
1. Booking & Payment Policy
A valid government-issued ID proof (Aadhaar, Passport, Voter ID) and a valid driving license are mandatory at the time of booking and vehicle pickup. Original documents must be produced at handover.
Customers must be 21 years of age or older and possess a valid driving license held for a minimum of 1 year.
Booking confirmation is subject to vehicle availability.
A refundable security deposit (ranging from ₹5,000 to ₹5,00,000 based on vehicle class) may be required before vehicle handover. The deposit is refunded on the 4th working day post-return, subject to deductions for damages, challans, excess kms, or fuel deficits.
The booking token paid for confirmation is strictly non-refundable — in case of cancellation, rescheduling, or no-show.
Full rental payment must be completed before the vehicle is delivered or handed over.
2. Cancellation & Refund Policy
Cancellation requests must be made before the scheduled pickup time as per the following schedule:
- More than 48 hours before pickup: Minimum ₹600/- OR 25% of Booking Amount (whichever higher) will be deducted. Balance deposit & fare refunded.
- 24 to 48 hours before pickup: Minimum ₹1,200/- OR 30% of Booking Amount (whichever higher) will be deducted. Balance deposit & fare refunded.
- Within 24 hours of pickup: 1-Day Rental Fare OR 50% of Booking Amount (whichever higher) will be deducted. Remaining balance refunded.
- At / After pickup time or No-Show: 100% forfeiture of booking amount. Security deposit refunded; 0% fare refund. If the customer arrives more than 2 hours after the scheduled pickup time, it shall be treated as a “No Show” — the entire booking amount shall be forfeited, the vehicle will not be provided, and a fresh booking will be required.
The booking token amount is strictly non-refundable in case of cancellation or rescheduling.
No refund will be provided for the unused rental period if the vehicle is returned before the scheduled return time.
3. Vehicle Usage Policy
The vehicle must be driven only by the person whose documents were submitted during the booking process. Allowing an unverified co-driver attracts a ₹2,000 fine, and all insurance coverage and damage liability caps shall immediately become null and void, making the customer 100% personally liable for all damages and liabilities.
Vehicles are provided strictly for personal use and must not be handed over to another person or used for commercial, illegal, or unauthorized activities.
Customers must comply with all applicable traffic rules and regulations. Speed limits are set at 80 km/hr (governed vehicles) and 110 km/hr (expressways).
Smoking, alcohol consumption, reckless driving, and driving under the influence of any type of drugs are strictly prohibited. Smoking attracts a ₹1,000 fine.
Any traffic challan, toll, fine, or penalty incurred during the rental period shall be the sole responsibility of the customer. Unpaid traffic fines attract a ₹500 penalty per 30-day delay.
4. Fuel, Damage & Liability
Vehicles are delivered with a specified fuel level and must be returned with the same fuel level. If found less, the deficit fuel is charged at actual cost + 10% surcharge, OR a flat ₹650 per missing fuel bar (whichever is higher). No credit is given for excess fuel.
Mis-fuelling (petrol in diesel or vice versa) constitutes severe gross negligence. The customer is 100% liable for full engine repair, tank flushing, dealership diagnostic fees, towing, and daily rental downtime losses.
The customer is responsible for any loss or damage caused to the vehicle during the rental period.
In the event of an accident, breakdown, or theft, the customer must immediately inform Kayra Cabs at +91 9899558450 and file a Police FIR/GD within 2 hours.
Repair costs, damages, and any outstanding dues shall be borne by the customer. The maximum payable by the client in case of a major accident will be ₹35,000/-, subject to approval of the insurance claim.
If there are any damages, unpaid charges, traffic penalties, or any other outstanding dues, they will be deducted from the security deposit.
5. Delivery, Return & Extension Policy
Vehicle pickup and return must be completed according to the agreed booking schedule. Returning to the original branch hub is free. Client doorstep transport fees: ₹550/- within Delhi Municipal Limits, ₹1,250/- for Delhi NCR locations (Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad).
Late returns may attract additional hourly or daily rental charges. A 30-minute grace period is allowed. Beyond that, half-day rental is charged; exceeding 2 hours results in full 1-day fare forfeiture plus a late overstay penalty of ₹300/hour (Min ₹500, Max ₹2,500).
Rental extensions are subject to vehicle availability and must be requested in writing at least 3 hours before the original booking period ends. Approved extensions attract standard fare + 50% extension surcharge.
Kayra Cabs reserves the right to modify, reschedule, or cancel any booking due to unavoidable operational, technical, or legal circumstances.
6. Jurisdiction & Legal
These Terms & Conditions are governed by Indian law. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Delhi, India. A sole arbitrator may be appointed under the Arbitration Act, 1996.
